After your first purchase
What to do in the twenty minutes after you buy a Pomatio plugin or theme.
1. Check your order went through
Open Orders in your account. Your order should be there, and its status should be one of the completed states.
If it is still pending — which happens with bank transfers and with payments held for review — your license is not active yet. Wait for the payment to clear; nothing you do in the meantime will speed it up.
2. Find your license
Open Licenses & Downloads. The product should appear under Your product licenses, with a status badge and a masked key.
If it is not there and your order is payment-confirmed, see A product or service is missing from your account.
3. Reveal and copy the key
Select Reveal key on the product's card. The full key appears, with a Copy button beside it.
The key is shown to you, not stored in your browser. Reload the page and it is masked again — reveal it whenever you need it.
4. Install the product
Install it on your site the way you install any WordPress plugin or theme. Two routes:
- Download the ZIP from the license card and upload it in your site's plugins or themes screen.
- Install a package you already have, if Pomatio or your agency sent you one.
Activate it.
5. Enter the key on the site
The product asks for a license key in its own settings. Paste the key you copied and save.
The site then contacts Pomatio, the license records the domain, and the domain appears in your license card's list. That list is how you confirm activation worked.
6. Confirm updates are working
Open your site's Dashboard → Updates. A licensed product reports its version and offers updates when Pomatio publishes them.
If the product shows a licensing notice instead, the key was not accepted. See My license key is rejected.
7. Note your domain allowance
Your license card shows Domains as a count against your plan's allowance. Some plans are unlimited; most are not.
Every authorized site takes a slot, including staging sites. Local and development environments are accepted only when the plan permits them, and their environment label is informational rather than a free-slot exemption. Check the count now so an activation is not refused unexpectedly.
If you also bought POM AI
Two extra steps, in POM AI Management:
- Confirm your subscription and your credit balance.
- Add the domain of every site that should be allowed to spend credits. A site that is not on that list cannot use POM AI, even with a valid license.

If you bought a service
Services appear under Your services in the same screen, with their plan and renewal date. There is no ZIP to install because Pomatio runs them. Copy the service activation key once to link the subscription to its network site.
Purchase email and account access
- A payment-confirmed order email may list your Pomatio products and first steps. For security, it never contains the full license key; the account is the authoritative copy.
- No installation service. Installing on your sites is yours to do.
- No automatic activation. Buying does not activate anything anywhere; you enter the key.
