Authorize a domain for POM AI
A site cannot spend your credits until its domain is on the authorized list. This is the step people miss.
Where it is
POM AI Management → Manage AI Domains. The heading shows how many domains are authorized, followed by the explanation:
Authorized domains use credits from this account. Add an optional spending limit to keep one site from consuming the entire balance.
Adding one
- Select Add New Domain.
- Enter the Domain or site URL. A full URL is accepted — it is reduced to the domain.
- Select Authorize domain.
The domain appears in Your Current Domains with its date added.
What can go wrong
The messages are specific:
| Message | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Please enter a valid domain or URL. | The value is not a domain. Check for typing errors and stray spaces |
| You already added that domain, please find it below! | It is already authorized — look further down the list |
| You have reached the maximum number of domains allowed by your subscription. | Your plan's allowance is full |
| The domain already exists on another user account, please contact support so we can dig into it. | Another account authorized this domain. Support has to resolve it |
That last one usually means the site was set up under a different account — an agency's, or an older account of yours. It cannot be fixed from your side.
The domain list
Your Current Domains shows each authorized domain with:
- Its Domain limit, or No limit (uses account balance).
- The Date added.
- The Last limit update, or Never.
- Controls to add, update or remove a limit, and Remove Domain.
Removing a domain
Select Remove Domain and confirm. The slot is freed immediately and the site can no longer spend credits.
Removal does not delete the site's usage history, and it does not refund anything already spent.
Which domain to enter
The domain the site actually runs on — the one in the address bar of its front end.
Points worth checking:
- Staging and development sites are separate domains and need their own authorization, consuming their own slots.
- A site behind a temporary domain must be re-authorized when it moves to its real one.
- Subdomains are distinct. Authorizing a domain does not authorize its subdomains.
Authorization is not licensing
Two separate things:
| Missing | Symptom |
|---|---|
| The POM AI license key on the site | The plugin reports a licensing problem |
| The domain authorization here | The plugin is licensed and AI operations still fail |
If a site is licensed and AI still does not work, this list is the first place to look.
Housekeeping
Domains accumulate. Every few months, check the list and remove sites you no longer run — decommissioned projects, finished staging copies, clients you handed over.
Each one you remove frees a slot, and closes a site that could otherwise still spend your balance.
