The model in one paragraph

You own a license for a product, on a plan. The plan decides how many domains you may activate and whether you get downloads and updates. Each site you activate is recorded as a domain on that license. The license has a key, which is the only thing a site needs in order to validate and receive updates.

The three things you can do from the account

Action When
Reveal key You are installing on a new site
Download ZIP You need the files, and updates are unavailable or you prefer to install by hand
Rotate key The key has been exposed and must be invalidated everywhere

Plus removing individual domains, which frees a slot.

What is safe and what is not

Your license key is a credential. Treat it like one:

  • Do keep it in your account and reveal it when you need it.
  • Do rotate it if it has been shared or published.
  • Do not email it, paste it in a support ticket, or put it in a repository.

Support never needs your key.
