Manage authorized domains
The list of sites using a license, and how to take one off it.
Where the list is
On the license card in Licenses & Downloads, below the key. Each entry shows a domain, and an environment label when the site is not a production one.
The count at the top of the card — Domains — is that list measured against your plan's allowance.
How a domain gets there
By activating the product on the site with your license key. There is no way to add a domain from the account; activation happens at the site.
Removing a domain
- Find the domain in the list.
- Select the × beside it.
- Confirm.
The confirmation is explicit about the consequence: the product will stop validating there until you activate it again.
The slot is freed immediately, and your account shows a notice naming the domain that was deactivated.
What removal does to the site
The product stays installed and keeps running with the files it has. What stops is validation — and with it, updates and anything the product gates behind a valid license.
It is not destructive, and it is reversible: activate again with the same key and the domain returns.
When to remove a domain
| Situation | Remove? |
|---|---|
| The site was decommissioned | Yes |
| A staging site whose project ended | Yes |
| You moved to a new domain and activated it | Yes, remove the old one |
| You need a slot for a new site | Yes, remove the least useful one |
| The site is temporarily offline | No — it will re-validate when it returns |
| You are troubleshooting a rejected key | No — removing does not fix a rejection |
Housekeeping
Domain lists grow quietly. Every few months, open your cards and ask of each domain: is this still a site I run?
Staging copies, client sites you handed over and short-lived campaign sites are the usual culprits, and they are the reason an allowance that looked generous is suddenly full.
Environment labels
A domain recorded as something other than production carries its environment as a label. The label is informational and the domain still counts toward the allowance. Whether local or development environments may activate depends on the plan.
What the list will not tell you
- When the domain was activated.
- Whether the product is currently enabled on that site.
- Which version it is running.
If you need to know whether a site is live and current, check the site.
