Settings
Everything on the Settings → POM LMS screen, plus the two settings that live elsewhere in WordPress.
In this chapter
| Topic | Article |
|---|---|
| Where settings live and who can change them | General settings |
| The Course section | Course settings |
| The Lesson section | Lesson settings |
| The Account section | My account settings |
| Visibility, subheaders and layout | Display settings |
| Every text students read | Labels and messages |
| The complete list | Settings reference |
The shape of the screen
Settings → POM LMS has four sections:
| Section | Contains |
|---|---|
| Course | Course single, Course subheader |
| Lesson | Lesson single, Lesson subheader |
| Account | My account settings |
| License | The product license for this site |
Course and Lesson are mirror images of each other. Account holds the My courses endpoint and the completion mode.
Two settings that are not on this screen
| Setting | Where |
|---|---|
| Course and lesson URL slugs, and the child structure | Settings → Permalinks, under Custom post types |
| Permission rules | The theme's permission-rule settings |
Both are covered in this documentation: Custom slugs and Permission-based access.
Everything here is site-wide
No setting on this screen can be overridden per course or per lesson. Individual courses and lessons have their own fields in the editor — access rules, messages, videos — but display, URLs and the completion mode apply to the whole site.
The one setting to decide first
Account → Lessons manual check, because it changes what every progress percentage means. Set it before students start. See Automatic and manual completion.
