My courses

My courses is the student's course list, inside the WooCommerce account area.

Where it appears

In the account menu, immediately after the first entry. Its name and its URL slug are configurable, defaulting to My courses and my_courses.

It requires WooCommerce, since it is an endpoint of the account area.

What it shows

One row per course the student can currently access:

Column Contents
Thumbnail The course's featured image, or a placeholder
Course The course title, linked
Completed The completion percentage
Access Why the student has access
Actions Access the course

The Course column heading is configurable, so a site can call it Training, Programme or anything else.

Only accessible courses are listed

The list is built by checking each course against the student's access. A course they cannot open is not listed at all.

That is worth knowing when a student says a course is missing: it is not a display problem, it is an access problem. See Paid access troubleshooting.

The access reason

The Access column explains why the course is available:

Reason shown Situation
An active subscription for a product The course is covered by a subscription
Because you purchased a product A one-off purchase grants it
Access granted by permission rule A rule matched
Free course No requirement

Both product cases link to the product, so the student can see what they bought.

This column does real support work: a student who is unsure why they can see something has the answer in front of them.

Configuring it

Settings → POM LMS → Account → My account settings:

Setting Effect
Section name The entry's label in the account menu
Custom slug The endpoint's URL segment
Custom label The heading of the course column
"No courses found" default text What a student with no courses reads

The name, label and empty text are translatable.

After changing the slug, re-save the permalink settings, or the endpoint returns a not-found result.

The thumbnail is the course's featured image. Without one, the row shows a placeholder — and a list of placeholders is the first impression a paying student gets of their library.

Set an image on every course.

What it does not show

  • Courses the student cannot access.
  • Which lesson they were last on.
  • An enrollment or purchase date.
  • Certificates or downloads.
  • Any course when WooCommerce is absent, because the area does not exist.

Verify

  1. Sign in as a student with access to at least one course.
  2. Open My courses.
  3. Confirm the entry's name and the column heading are the ones you configured.
  4. Confirm the course appears with its image, percentage and access reason.
  5. Confirm Access the course opens it.
  6. Sign in as a student with no courses and confirm the empty text.
  7. Check the table on a phone, where it stacks.
