Activate your POM LMS license
The license connects this site to your POM LMS subscription. It authorizes the domain and enables private updates.
What you need
- An active POM LMS subscription.
- The license key from My Account → Licenses & Downloads.
- Administrator access to this site.
Save and validate the key
- Open Settings → POM LMS.
- Open the License section.
- Paste the key.
- Save and validate.
- Confirm the section reports a valid state for this domain.
Where the key is stored
In the shared POM product license registry used by every POM product on the site — not in a POM LMS-specific option, and not behind a separate menu.
One place to look when several POM products are installed, and one place to change if a key is rotated.
Multisite
Two rules, both shown in the License section of a subsite:
- POM LMS must be network-active, or active on the main site, for the local updater to work.
- The network license is configured from the main site; a subsite does not hold its own update license.
The missing-license notice
When no valid license is present, POM LMS shows an administration notice linking straight to its License section. It is a prompt, not a lockout.
What the license does not affect
- Courses and lessons keep working. Content, templates and access rules do not depend on the license check.
- Students are unaffected. Access, progress and the account area behave normally.
- The settings screen stays available.
What you lose without a valid license is update delivery: new versions are not offered.
What it does not replace
The theme requirement is separate. A valid license on a site running a non-POM theme still means course pages do not render as intended. Licensing and the theme are independent requirements.
When to revisit it
- After moving the site to another domain — the key authorizes a domain, so revalidate.
- After a subscription renewal, if the state does not refresh on its own.
- Before a planned update, so a new version is actually offered.
- After restoring a backup onto a different environment.
Keep the key private
The license key is credential-like. Do not put it in screenshots, support messages, tickets or shared documents. Support can identify a subscription without it — see Safe information to send with a support request.
