What a student actually does: find their courses, work through the outline, mark lessons complete, watch the percentage rise, and come back where they left off.

The student's path

  1. They reach a course — from a link, a purchase confirmation, or My courses.
  2. The course page shows the description and the outline in the sidebar.
  3. They open a lesson.
  4. The lesson shows its video and content; the outline stays beside it.
  5. Progress advances, automatically or when they tick a lesson.
  6. They leave, and return later from My courses.

What POM LMS gives them

  • A course outline grouped into sections, with estimated times.
  • A progress bar and a percentage.
  • A back link to the course from any lesson.
  • Previous and next navigation through the lessons.
  • A My courses area listing what they can access, with the reason.

What it does not give them

Worth knowing, because students ask:

  • No emails. No welcome, no reminder, no completion notice.
  • No certificate.
  • No quiz, assignment or grade.
  • No deadline or schedule.
  • No "continue where I left off" button — the outline shows what is done, and the student chooses.

If your course promises any of those, it has to come from somewhere else.

Progress belongs to signed-in students

Completion is recorded per student and per course. An anonymous visitor reading a preview accumulates nothing, and a student who loses access keeps their progress for when it returns.

The setting that shapes everything here

Settings → POM LMS → Account → Lessons manual check decides whether opening a lesson marks it complete, or whether students tick lessons themselves.

It changes what the percentage means. Decide it before students start, and see Automatic and manual completion.
