Configure wishlists
POM Wishlists let signed-in customers create product lists, save simple products or selected variations, remove items, choose private or public visibility, and manage lists from WooCommerce My Account.
Guests see an Add to wishlist route to the My Account page so they can sign in before saving products.
Enable the feature
- Go to Settings → POM Theme → E-Commerce → Promotions → Wishlist settings.
- Enable the feature.
- Choose Product single button style.
- Enter the My Account menu label.
- Save the settings.
The visible menu label can change, but the WooCommerce account endpoint remains wishlists.

Prepare the public wishlist page
Public lists use a dedicated front-end page:
- create a published page with the slug
wishlist; - add the POM Wishlist Gutenberg block, the Legacy Wishlist element, or the
[web_wishlist]shortcode; - publish the page;
- open a public list's share URL in a signed-out browser.
Private lists do not render through the public-list view. The tokenized share URL is shown to the owner only when the list is public. The page resolves the current list from the case-sensitive list parameter; the block does not select an account or save a customer's list.
Exclude the public page and its list query URLs from full-page/CDN caching. The renderer requests no-cache protection, but cached responses served before WordPress runs cannot recheck privacy. Verify that changing a list to private removes public access immediately.
The public view preserves complete saved lists and checks current product visibility, publication, passwords and theme permissions. Selected variations require a visible public parent and an enabled variation. Unavailable products are omitted without changing the saved list. Unreadable lists show the same unavailable message as a missing or private list.
Public product links open the current product page; they do not add items to a cart. The read-only table needs no wishlist-management script. Signed-in product and My Account management controls continue to load their existing script when used.
Customer workflow
A signed-in customer can:
- create a named list and choose whether it is private;
- select Add to wishlist on a product page;
- add a selected variation where applicable;
- open the configured wishlist destination in My Account;
- change a list between Public and Private;
- copy the public share URL;
- open products or add supported items to the cart;
- remove products or delete a list.
New lists created directly while adding a product are private by default.
Verify ownership and sharing
Test with two customer accounts and a signed-out browser:
- each customer sees only their own lists in My Account;
- one customer cannot edit another customer's list;
- a private share token does not reveal the list;
- a public share URL opens the intended products;
- switching a public list to private removes public access;
- a deleted or unavailable product does not break the list;
- a selected variation returns to the correct product state;
- guest product actions lead to My Account.
Troubleshooting
If the My Account destination returns 404, save Settings → Permalinks once. If a public share URL does not work, confirm that the wishlist page exists at the expected slug and contains the Wishlist element. If the product button is missing, confirm that the feature is enabled and test the standard POM single-product output.
