web_breadcrumbs Shortcode

The web_breadcrumbs shortcode renders the breadcrumbs component.

The trail is automatic and has no per-instance Page Builder settings. Use raw syntax only for reviewed content that cannot be maintained through the visual controls.

Usage

[web_breadcrumbs]

When a custom post type uses a taxonomy-based permalink configured under Settings → Permalinks, the breadcrumb output includes the complete selected taxonomy hierarchy. If that taxonomy uses a page-backed archive base, every ancestor page and the selected base page appear before the terms. Page titles and term names provide the labels, every ancestor links to its canonical URL, and Rank Math output follows the same hierarchy when its breadcrumb integration is active.

Attributes

This shortcode has no public attributes. Its trail follows the current request and active SEO provider. Header placement switches do not disable a manually inserted shortcode. For per-instance alignment, accessibility labels, helper classes and device visibility in Gutenberg, use the Breadcrumbs block.

Customize the stylesheet

Administrators can replace the complete Breadcrumbs stylesheet under Settings → POM Theme → Advanced → Custom CSS → Shortcode CSS assets → Breadcrumbs. Saving publishes an optimized per-site copy without changing which requests require the component. Reverting returns the existing web-breadcrumbs handle to the current breadcrumbs.min.css supplied by the theme. The generated hierarchy, labels, canonical links, separators and shortcode markup remain unchanged, and the stylesheet-only feature does not gain a JavaScript request.

Verification

Verify web_breadcrumbs with representative content, its empty state and every enabled responsive range.
