web_menu Shortcode

The web_menu shortcode displays a shared WordPress menu using the theme's simple content-navigation layout. Manage its links and hierarchy in Appearance → Menus.

The attributes below match the current Page Builder controls and public output. Use raw syntax only for reviewed content that cannot be maintained through the visual controls.

Usage

[web_menu menu="footer-links" aria_label="Footer navigation"]

Attributes

Attribute Default Accepted values Purpose
menu — Existing WordPress menu ID, slug or name Selects the shared navigation menu. Missing or empty menus render nothing without substituting another menu.
aria_label Menu name Plain text Optional accessible name for the navigation region.
device_visibility — Space-separated web-hide-on-lg, web-hide-on-md, web-hide-on-sm, and/or web-hide-on-xs classes Hides the rendered navigation container at the selected responsive sizes.
el_id — Valid unique HTML ID Optional anchor on the navigation container.
el_class — Space-separated helper classes Applies existing classes to the navigation container without generating CSS.

Verification

Verify web_menu with representative content, its empty state and every enabled responsive range. Pay particular attention to menu.

Links retain their new-tab and relationship metadata and current-page semantics. Titles allow passive inline formatting; arbitrary executable attributes and active title markup are not supported. The simple menu does not render header mega-menu features.

The shortcode remains available when Page Builder administration is disabled and adds no dedicated frontend assets. Global menu changes apply on the next uncached render. Gutenberg's Menu block uses the same renderer.
