web_iframe Shortcode

The web_iframe shortcode embeds a trusted page using the theme's iframe wrapper and loading policy. It remains available when Page Builder administration is disabled. Gutenberg editors can use the Iframe block.

The attributes below match the current Page Builder controls and public output. Use raw syntax only for reviewed content that cannot be maintained through the visual controls.

Usage

[web_iframe url="https://example.org/embed" width="100%" height="480" additional_attrs='title="Embedded service"']

Attributes

Attribute Default Accepted values Purpose
url — HTTP(S) or relative web URL Source document. Empty or unsupported schemes produce no output. Use the provider's embed URL.
width 100% String unless stated otherwise Enter only number for pixels or percent unit for relative width (e.g. 100%).
height 800 String unless stated otherwise Enter only number for pixels or percent unit for relative height (e.g. 100%).
iframe_loading lazy lazy, eager, auto Lazy uses the existing theme player when Advanced → Lazy Load is enabled. Eager loads immediately. Auto bypasses the theme parser and omits the HTML loading attribute; it does not emit loading="auto".
iframe_fetchpriority — high, low, auto Use high only for above-the-fold iframes. High priority forces eager loading.
additional_attrs — Quoted allowlisted attributes Include a descriptive title. Supports allow, allowfullscreen, allowpaymentrequest, credentialless, frameborder, fullscreen, marginheight, marginwidth, name, referrerpolicy, sandbox, scrolling, tabindex, title and descriptive aria/data attributes. Source, ID, dimensions, loading, priority and classes cannot be overridden. Events, inline CSS and srcdoc are rejected. Double backticks may stand for double quotes.
custom_class — String unless stated otherwise Controls the additional css classes.
device_visibility — String unless stated otherwise Applies the selected responsive visibility rule.
el_id — Valid unique HTML ID Optional ID on the iframe element.

Verification

Review the destination, title and dimensions, including on mobile. Missing or empty titles receive an “Embedded content” fallback; an authored descriptive title is preferable. High priority forces eager loading even with auto selected. Browser support for iframe priority hints varies.

Embedded content can contact its provider, and lazy loading is not a consent mechanism. Sandbox, visitor consent and the provider's own embedding policies still apply. The shortcode does not bypass framing restrictions or add a separate iframe script or stylesheet.
