Media uploads and filenames
Pomatio applies one portable filename policy whenever WordPress sanitizes a file name and permits ZIP and Gzip archives through WordPress's upload system. This keeps uploaded files compatible with common filesystems, storage providers and POM workflows.

| Upload a file and understand its resulting stored name | Upload files with predictable names |
Before you begin
You need permission to upload files on the intended site. Pomatio's archive allowlist does not grant that permission or override WordPress size and file-validation checks.
Recommended path
- Give the source file a short, descriptive name.
- Upload it through the relevant WordPress or Pomatio screen.
- Confirm the stored filename after the upload completes.
- Update external references if they depended on characters removed during sanitization.
