Widget content policy
Pomatio Platform applies one shared widget policy across the multisite network. It removes two legacy widgets and, when the POM Theme is available, filters legacy Text widget content through the theme's supported HTML allowlist.
Available widgets
The following widgets are unavailable in the WordPress widget selector:
- Meta, supplied by WordPress.
- Akismet, when the Akismet plugin has registered its legacy widget.
Existing sidebars cannot add a new instance of either widget through the normal WordPress interface.
Verify a Text widget
You need permission to edit the site's widgets.
- Open Appearance → Widgets.
- Open an existing legacy Text widget or add one where that widget is available.
- Enter the required text and supported HTML.
- Save the widget.
- Open a public page that renders the corresponding widget area.
- Confirm that the text, links and formatting appear as expected.
When the POM Theme supplies its HTML allowlist, unsupported tags and attributes are removed when the Text widget content is filtered. Pomatio Platform intentionally leaves the content unchanged when that theme helper is unavailable, preserving compatibility with other themes.
Troubleshooting
- If a tag or attribute disappears, use markup supported by the current POM Theme instead.
- If Akismet was never active, there may be no Akismet widget to remove.
- This policy has no settings screen. It applies automatically on every network site.
